Dr. Kimberly S. Coyner, Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology, graduated from the Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1994. After a referral private practice internship and a year in emergency practice, she obtained a two-year teaching position and then a three-year residency position in dermatology at the University of Georgia, which she completed in 2001. After completing her residency Dr. Coyner was in private dermatology referral practice at Dermatology Clinic for Animals in the southwest United States until 2013, when she moved her practice to beautiful Washington State.
Dr. Coyner has authored multiple articles in the scientific journals Veterinary Dermatology, Veterinary Medicine, and The Compendium on Continuing Education for the Practicing Veterinarian, as well as book chapters in the field of dermatology (Morgan's Handbook of Small Animal Practice 4th. Ed., 2002, and Small Animal Dermatology Color Atlas and Therapeutic Guide, 2001 and 2006). She was a committee co-chair involved in the research and publication of the Dermatophytosis Clinical Consensus Guidelines of the World Association for Veterinary Dermatology, and has channeled her love of dermatology and teaching into the new book Clinical Atlas of Canine and Feline Dermatology, published by Wiley.
She participates in clinical drug trials of cutting edge treatments for atopy and other skin diseases in companion animals, and her special interests include the diagnosis and treatment of atopy (including extensive experience in sublingual allergy immunotherapy), chronic otitis, allergy immunotherapy for the treatment of feline asthma related to atopy, and immune-mediated skin diseases.
Christy started working in the veterinary field in 2006, when she began working at a small animal practice in Oregon until her move to Washington when she joined Dermatology Clinic for Animals in 2013. She became Practice Manager in 2021 and in her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and exploring the outdoors.
Lauren has been working as a veterinarian assistant for 3 years. Originally from Philadelphia, she moved to Washington fall 2017 after her husband was stationed at Fort Lewis. In her free time, she enjoys going on adventures with her husband and three fur babies. Koa the Belgian Malinois, handsome Jax-the Foster that never left and ruler of the castle- Pitty princess Luna.
Alissa first started out by getting certified as a positive reinforcement trainer in 2018. She then realized the veterinary field was a fun career path and joined the Dermatology Clinic for Animals in February of 2021. She has a blind and deaf double merle pup named Keller, 2 cats named Tada and Aston, and one bunny named Polar Bear. In her free time, she enjoys riding her motorcycle and spending time with her boyfriend finding some mud to go off-roading in their Jeep Comanche.
Cristal has been in veterinary medicine since 2014 and has had the pleasure of working with a wide variety of creatures, from fur to feathers to scales. She enjoys reading, writing, and video games. Places you might spot her in the wild are Comicon, or reptile expos. She shares her home with a Shiba Inu mix named Chell, two cats named Jack and Loki, and a lot of what most people would consider creepy critters, but Cristal considers adorable.
Rebecca has been a licensed veterinary technician since 2014 and worked in general practice for 8 years before deciding to switch to dermatology in January of 2022. She hopes to specialize in dermatology under Dr. Wyatt's mentorship. She lives in Lacey with her husband Michael and two pugs, Bella and Weener.
Jessica joined the Dermatology Clinic for Animals in January 2022. She has been in the veterinary industry since 2015 when she began working in a small clinic in southern New Hampshire. She worked in general practice and emergency clinics while completing her Bachelor’s degree. Along with her husband, two big dogs, Guinea pig, and an over-abundance of houseplants, Jessica moved from Massachusetts to Fort Lewis, Washington. She enjoys gardening, yoga, and spending time with her family.
